KFR rescue team brings woman to safety after Criss Creek accident

KAMLOOPS— Kamloops Fire and Rescue crews had a rope rescue last night up the Tranquille-Criss Creek Road after a car went over the bank. The incident happened around 10:00 PM Saturday night on Criss Creek Road near Frederick Road.
The car went about 100 feet down the embankment with the female occupant still inside. The bank is at a 75 degree angle, and B.C. Ambulance personnel could not access the vehicle.
KFR crews responded, and fire crews worked down the embankment and got the woman up to the roadway. KFR’s Ken Hart says the woman was helped out of the vehicle, and as she was ambulatory, the crews didn’t need more than have to walk her up the bank with the help of the rope.
No indication what caused the accident, but the road in that area has some very sharp turns.
