GABRIELLE UNION DRAGS NBC’S PLANS TO ADDRESS HARASSMENT: Not enough. Gabrielle Union, who says she was fired from America’s Got Talent on NBC for speaking out about its toxic environment, doesn’t think the network has gone far enough to address its problematic culture. “Great start by NBC to recognize the need to not turn away & ignore racial & gender discrimination on programs like #AGT,” Union tweeted, in response to a report about the network’s expanded employee protection plans. She added: “More changes are needed however. Like stopping executives from intimidating talent from sharing their experience of racism in their own workplace investigations.” (ET)
NETWORKS OFFERING REALITY TV STARS GOOD BEHAVIOR BONUSES: Networks are beginning to realize that outspoken reality stars can be a liability. It’s not a high bar.” (Page Six)

THANDIE NEWTON TURNED DOWN CHARLIE’S ROLE: Thandie Newton turned down a role in 2000’s Charlie’s Angels because Sony Pictures head Amy Pascal made racist remarks, she tells Vulture. Plus: “One of the biggest movies I didn’t end up doing was because the director said to me, ‘I can’t wait for this. The first shot is going to be … You’re going to think it’s like yellow lines down a road, and you pull back and you realize it’s the stitching, because the denim is so tight on your ass it’s going to look like tarmac. I was like, ‘Oh, I don’t think we’re going to go down this road together. Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz ended up starring. (Vulture)
