Kamloops-area rivers primed to peak yet again: province
KAMLOOPS — After our rain-soaked Wednesday, the B.C. River Forecast Centre (RFC) says the highest levels of the year are likely still to come for Kamloops-area rivers.
In a new bulletin Thursday (July 2), the RFC has upgraded the tributaries of the South Thompson River to flood watch stage. That includes the Shuswap River, the Adams River and Shuswap Lake.
The South Thompson itself, the North Thompson and its tributaries and the Thompson River downstream from Kamloops remain at flood watch stage.
In addition, the RFC has issued high streamflow advisories for the Salmon River at Salmon Arm and the Bonaparte River at Cache Creek.
