KAMLOOPS — Another outdoor movie option is coming to Kamloops next month.

The drive-in screenings this July come from a partnership between Fresh Air Cinema, and FortisBC to bring outdoor movies to over 30 communities in B.C.

The Kamloops showings of Onward, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will be held July 4, and 5 at Lyon’s Landscaping. Entry gates open at 8:25 p.m, with the movies to start at dusk around 9:25 p.m.

Organizers have partnered with Terry Lynds / Brendan Shaw Real Estate to host the by-donation event, with proceeds going towards the Kamloops Food Bank.

“In a time when we’ve had to adapt to physical distancing, and when so many families and friends have been forced to spend time alone in their homes, we’re excited to once again bring the joy of drive-in movies to families across the province,” said Jason Bashnick, Managing Director, Fresh Air Cinema. “These offer a place where we can all connect safely and watch our favorite stories on screen under a starlit sky. It’s also a unique experience that allows family members to crunch homemade popcorn and slurp soda as loud as they like without bothering the people around them.”

Due to COVID-19 prevention requirements, the screenings will be limited to 50 people at a time, and participants are encouraged to stay in their vehicles unless taking a bathroom break.

Update: According to the Fresh Air Cinema Eventbrite page, tickets for the Kamloops showings go on sale Monday, June 29 at 5:00 PM  (Click here)
