SOUND OFF: Thanks to parents for their support during this unprecedented school year
WE HAVE CLOSED THE BOOKS on a school year that has seen us working together in unprecedented ways. The efforts parents and staff have taken to keep each other and our students safe is inspiring.
Your kind and patient approach to supporting your child and your teacher has not gone unnoticed, and I wish to thank you for everything you have done to ensure students and staff are safe. While we do not know what September will bring, we anticipate having more students in class on September 8, based on recommendations from our Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry.
In consultation with the Provincial Health Office, the Ministry of Education has developed a five-stage approach for operating schools depending on the risk of transmission of COVID-19. We will continue to be in touch with the Ministry of Education and Provincial Health Office over the summer months to plan for a safe reopening of schools. The District has developed specific plans for safely operating schools at each of the Ministry of Education’s five-stage plan. This ensures we can adapt quickly if changes are advised by the Provincial Health Officer.
SD73 is committed to keeping you well informed of the plans for September and ask that you watch for updates on school and district websites and through the email address you provided your school.
