LEE CREEK, B.C. — Five North Shuswap properties have been evacuated, and another seven are under an alert due to the risk of a landslide.

The affected area is at 2633 Squilax-Anglemont Road in Lee Creek, in the Gateway Lakeview Resort. The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) issued the alert and order on Monday (June 22).

The CSRD says only two of the evacuated properties were occupied, while the other three were vacant.

The regional district says a resident alerted them on June 13 to “land sloughing and cracks” that had developed in the area.
