KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops says residents are ‘Ready to Play’.

Mayor Ken Christian announced the impending reopening of several recreational facilities Wednesday (June 24), as restrictions around the COVID-19 pandemic are loosened.

Next Monday (June 29), the outdoor Brock Pool will begin reopening for lap swimming and other classes and groups. The pool will open to the public with limited capacity on July 8.

The wading pool at Prince Charles Park will also open nxt Monday with new restrictions and a maximum of 30 people in the water at one time.

Christian says the City is also preparing for more crowds at Riverside Park Beach, though that is not an option now due to high water and flood barriers in place.

Next Monday, the Tournament Capital Centre will see the reopening of its Wellness Centre and Athlete Performance Centre.

And Christian says certain sports fields will be available for booking by local sports organizations as organized sports ramp up this summer.
