KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire and Rescue crews have a lot of experience rescuing trapped hikers from Peterson Creek. But yesterday, (Sun, June 21) they had to travel to a different area to rescue some teens who were trapped on one of the faces of Mount Paul.

Fire crews were called out around 5:00 PM Sunday afternoon to one of the faces of the mountain. Four young people had climbed up, but two of them weren’t able to get down.

Eight firefighters used ropes to drop down to where the youngsters were located and got them to safety. Fortunately, no injuries.

Firefighters caution all adventurers to practice safety and don’t go into areas you aren’t familiar with, or which are known danger areas.
