KAMLOOPS — An administrator in the Kamloops-Thompson School District has been named to the B.C. School Superintendents Association (BCSSA) Board of Directors.

Mike Bowden is the district principal for aboriginal education within School District 73.

President Chris van der Mark says the BCSSA is seeking to “create space to honour the voice of Indigenous Peoples” in B.C. as part of its commitment to the Calls to Action spelled out in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Bowden has already taken part in the BCSSA’s Indigenous Leaders program.
