Analysts investigate “suspicious” fire

KAMLOOPS — Investigators are checking out a suspicious fire that caused damage to a business this morning in the 800 block Seymour Street.
Emergency crews were called out just before 3:15 this morning (Fri. June 19) to 821 Seymour, the home of Social Butterflies Activities and Learning. Fire crews knocked the fire down fairly quickly, but there was still substantial damage.
RCMP say they will join Kamloops Fire analysts at the site this morning to investigate the cause. Police say it was a “suspicious” fire, possibly arson, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
