Video surveillance captures Vernon-area vandalism suspect in the act
VERNON, B.C. — New technology has given police a better chance of finding a vandalism suspect after an incident in Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park near Vernon.
On Tuesday June 16, between 7:00 and 7:45 p.m. an area resident parked their vehicle at the Cosens Bay parking lot in Coldstream when they went for a mountain bike ride in the park.
The vehicle owner returned to find an unknown suspect had caused damage to every door, quarter panel, hood, trunk and the driver’s side window.
“Unbeknownst to the suspect, the vehicle is equipped with video surveillance and captured photos of the suspect as he walked around the vehicle,” said Cpl. Tania Finn, media relations officer.
