In place of Riverside Park event, Kamloops Canada Day celebration coming via live stream

KAMLOOPS — Every year, thousands of people gather at Riverside Park in Kamloops to celebrate Canada Day. This year, a virtual Canada Day will have to do.
The City of Kamloops announced the cancellation of in-person Canada Day celebrations in April, due to physical distancing guidelines put in place to battle COVID-19.
In a news release, the City now says it has planned an alternate event, dubbed “Virtual Kamloops Canada Day 2020 Celebration”.
The virtual event will play out via live stream, and include music, art, dancing and interactive activities for children.
