Serious incident on old Merritt Highway investigated by RCMP

EARLIER: RCMP are investigating after what was termed a “fairly serious incident” last night on the old Merritt highway (Highway 5A) just above the interesection with Rogers Way.

KFR Captain Wade Lindoff says they were called to assist just before 10:15 PM Monday night. Lindoff says details will come from the RCMP but that a vehicle hit a pedestrian.

The highway was closed for a time just above the intersection with Rogers Way while emergency crews dealt with the situation.
