Advisories for all Kamloops-area rivers but the South Thompson have been lifted

VICTORIA — As runoff from weekend rains makes its way through Interior watersheds, the B.C. River Forecast Centre (RFC) has ended a series of high streamflow advisories.
The advisories being lifted Tuesday afternoon (June 16) cover the North Thompson River and its tributaries, the North and Central Okanagan regions and Nicola Lake.
The only high streamflow advisory remaining in place for the Central Interior covers the South Thompson River system, including Shuswap Lake, the Shuswap River and the Adams River.
The RFC says the South Thompson has yet to peak after last weekend’s rain. Runoff in the region must make its way through several lakes before it finds the South Thompson River itself.
