Some people will go to great lengths for a few dollars. Kamloops Crime Stoppers says just one case happened in Brocklehurst last week.

In the early morning hours of June 2, a male took a rock and smashed the glass door of a business in the 1800-block of Tranquille Road.

Crime of the Week #3

Kamloops RCMP and Kamloops Crime Stoppers are reminding people that, while the COVID-19 pandemic has turned much of the world on its head, speed limits have not changed.

RCMP members patrolling on the Tk’emlups Reserve last month came across at least three drivers who were disregarding speed limits – in a big way.

On May 8 at about 10:00 p.m. on the Yellowhead Highway near Oka Trail, Mounties caught up to a driver clocked at 177 km/h in a 90 km/h zone.

On May 14 at about 3:00 p.m. on the Yellowhead near Salish Road, officers recorded a vehicle driving at 204 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

The next day, on May 15 at about 6:00 p.m. at nearly the same location, another vehicle was clocked at 202 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

In all three cases, the drivers were levied hefty fines and had their vehicles impounded for seven days.
