Lucky 13 days without a new COVID-19 case in Interior Health

VICTORIA — Provincial health officials are reporting ten new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday (June 9). Nine of those were from positive tests, while one was epidemiologically linked to another COVID-19-positive patient.

That leaves the provincial total at 2,669 cases, distributed as follows:

  • 908 (Vancouver Coastal)
  • 1,370 (Fraser Health)
  • 130 (Vancouver Island)
  • 195 (Interior Health)
  • 66 (Northern Health)

This marks the 13th consecutive day that Interior Health has not registered a new case of the virus.

There were no new healthcare outbreaks, leaving four active in the province, and no new community outbreaks, leaving the province managing six in that category.

The number of active cases is 183, with 16 of those in hospital and four in critical or intensive care.

No new deaths from COVID-19 were registered Tuesday. The provincial death toll remains at 167.

Of the 2,669 total cases, 2,319 are considered fully recovered, or 87 per cent.
