Kamloops Kidney Walk goes virtual for distanced fundraising

KAMLOOPS — The 2020 Kamloops Kidney Walk will look different this year compared to past fundraising events.

Usually, participants gather in one of the city’s parks, and walk between 2.5 km and 10 km to fundraise for the Kidney Foundation of Canada, and raise organ donation awareness.

However this year, the Kamloops Kidney Walk will be hosted online, as part of a nation-wide effort to maintain gathering restrictions, and physical distancing.

The “Walk the Block” event takes place tomorrow (June 7) in British Columbia, and Kamloops organizers have opted to take part. Initially, the Kamloops Kidney Walk was scheduled to be held in McDonald Park on September 20.
