KAMLOOPS — 2020 has become a big year for multi-family construction in the City of Kamloops.

New totals released by the City of Kamloops Building Inspection Division show a total of $24.9 million in building activity last month, down from $33.3 million during the same month in 2019.

About 87 per cent of last month’s building activity came in the area of residential construction — including $17.5 million split between two multi-family complexes.

All in all, builders have taken out permits to put up 481 residential units so far in 2020 — nearly twice as many as at the same time last year.
