Active COVID-19 cases in B.C. nudge upward Wednesday

VICTORIA — The latest COVID-19 totals from the Province of B.C. show a small uptick in active cases in the province.

In a news release, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix report 22 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday (June 3). All but one were found in the Fraser Health area.

The total of test positive COVID-19 cases in B.C. is now 2,623.

Henry says there are 214 active cases in the province, including 32 in hospital and seven in intensive care.

There are 2,243 who are fully recovered, or 86 per cent.

One more person has died of COVID-19, raising the provincial death toll to 166.

On the positive side, two more healthcare facility outbreaks have been declared over, leaving the province with only six active outbreaks in the healthcare facilities.

  • 1,332 (Fraser Health)
  • 127 (Vancouver Island)
  • 195 (Interior Health)
  • 64 (Northern Health)
