Slow down: RCMP reminding Kamloops drivers of school-zone speed limits

KAMLOOPS — As students in the Kamloops-Thompson School District head back into classrooms this week, school-zones speed limits are back in effect for drivers.

The last two months have been relatively quiet for school zone traffic, but RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says that is expected to change as more students return to school grounds.

“So just remember to look for more kids, slow down for the school zones, and know that these kids are going to be really excited,” Shelkie notes. “Many of them have been stuck inside for more than a month, and they’re going to be using different hours when they go to school. Some are just going for half days, some are going for full days, but not every day.”
