RCMP release photos of Salmon Arm armed robbery suspect

SALMON ARM, B.C. — UPDATE: In a news release, Salmon Arm RCMP say they have identified and arrested the suspect, who is a youth. The boy faces potential criminal charges.

EARLIER: RCMP in the Shuswap have released surveillance photos in an effort to identify an armed robbery suspect.

The incident happened Sunday morning (May 31) just after 6:00 a.m., at the Husky gas station along the Trans Canada Highway in downtown Salmon Arm.

A suspect entered the convenience store armed with a handgun and demanded money, making off with an undisclosed quantity of cash. The employee in the store was not injured.

When the robbery occurred, the suspect was wearing a mask. However, investigators believe the suspect had entered the store unmasked a few moments before the robbery.

Suspect description:

  • White
  • In his late teens or early 20s
  • Dark, shaggy hair
  • Wearing white runners, black sweat pants, tri-colour hoodie with grey on top, white in the middle and black on the bottom
