Streamflow advisories issued for South Thompson, Clearwater rivers
VICTORIA — True to its word, the B.C. River Forecast Centre (RFC) has issued high streamflow advisories for more rivers in the Kamloops areas.
Thursday afternoon (May 28), the RFC issued one such advisory for the South Thompson River and its tributaries, including the Shuswap River. It also implemented an advisory for the Clearwater River, and maintained an earlier advisory for the North Thompson and its tributaries.
High streamflow advisories remain in place for the Nicola River system, including the Upper Nicola River above Nicola Lake and downstream through Spences Bridge, as well as the North Okanagan region. An advisory was issued for the Similkameen as well Thursday.
Flood watches remain in place for the Bonaparte River near Cache Creek and the Salmon River near Salmon Arm.
