Traffic stops help Kamloops RCMP net weapons, drugs, thousands of dollars in cash

KAMLOOPS — RCMP officers seized a wide array of contraband items after a busy night on the streets of Kamloops.

According to a news release from Sergeant Jeff Bingley, it began with a downtown traffic stop finding a man with two outstanding warrants.

Mounties seized a replica gun, a cattle prod, drugs and drug paraphernalia. The suspect has a date booked with a judge Wednesday morning (May 27).

Next, officers tracked down a truck stolen out of 100 Mile House on Seymour Street. The occupant was arrested without incident.

A traffic stop on Tranquille Road resulted in the seizure of two loaded shotguns, knives, body armour, drugs and over $2,800 in cash. The man in question is believed to be a drug dealer and is facing charges.

Finally, another traffic stop found another man carrying drugs and a large amount of cash – over $3,600 in this case. The man is facing charges.
