Modified to fit pandemic measures, Kamloops-Thompson graduation ceremonies begin this week
KAMLOOPS — Grade 12 graduation ceremonies begin in the Kamloops-Thompson School District Monday (May 25), but they won’t look like they ever have before.
In a message posted on the SD73 website, Superintendent Alison Sidow says the ceremonies have been individualized to respect physical distancing guidelines put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Sidow says grads and their families “will be invited, one family group at a time, to experience their student walking across the stage at their school, to receive their diploma.”
The individual ceremonies will each be captured on video and edited together to create a commemorative video celebrating the entire school’s graduating class.
