May 23, 2020 | 8:17 AM

KAMLOOPS — A Brocklehurst community candlelight vigil will be held this evening (May 23), in remembrance of Sunday morning’s (May 17) fatal Snowbird crash.

While taking off from Kamloops as part of Operation INSPIRATION, one of the Canadian Forces Snowbird planes went down in the Brocklehurst neighbourhood. Captain Jennifer Casey was killed, while pilot Captain Richard MacDougall survived with injuries.

Tonight’s event, ‘Stand Together’, will be held in the parking lof of the Kamloops Free Methodist Church at 975 Windbreak Street.

While the public is allowed to attend, a maximum of 50 people will be allowed to gather. Participants must maintain physical distancing, and are also asked to bring their own chair, candle, and lighter to limit contact with others.
