Remains found near Quesnel confirmed to be those of missing man
QUESNEL — RCMP and the B.C Coroners Service have confirmed human remains found in the Quesnel area earlier this month were those of a man who had been reported missing.
Louis Korkowski had been reported missing after possibly being abducted May 4. (See previous story) Two days later (May 6), investigators following up on this report came upon human remains in a rural area of Quesnel.
Now, investigators with the BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit and the B.C Coroners Service have confirmed the remains found were those of Korkowski.
In a release, RCMP say criminality is suspected in his death, and police continue to look for information about two vehicles related to the investigation, and Korkowski’s whereabouts leading up to his death. Police are re-releasing the photos of Korkowski, the green Ford Explorer, and the grey Toyota Matrix suspected to have some involvement in the incident. (see bottom of article)
