Sia’s Big News
Sia said during Tuesday’s episode of SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up that she adopted two teenage boys in 2019.
“I actually adopted two sons last year. They were 18 – they’re both 19 years old now. They were aging out of the foster care system,” she said. “Yeah, and I love them.” Sia said her sons are struggling amid the pandemic but are focused on their education.
Sia briefly talked about her adoption in a January article for GQ while discussing her attraction for Diplo. “Much of our relationship is just being spent trying not to have sex so that we wouldn’t ruin our business relationship because he’s super-duper hot,” Sia said of Diplo. “This year I wrote him a text, and I said, ‘Hey, listen, you’re like one of five people that I’m sexually attracted to, and now that I’ve decided to be single for the rest of my life and I just adopted a son, I don’t have time for a relationship. If you’re interested in some no-strings sex, then hit me up.'”
Sia was married to filmmaker Erik Anders Lang in 2014 but they announced their separation in 2016.
Sia also released the new song “Together,” from the upcoming film Music, yesterday. Music stars Kate Hudson, Leslie Odom, Jr. and Maddie Ziegler. The movie is based on a short story that Sia wrote in 2007. The release date has not yet been announced.
Hudson plays Zu in the film, a newly sober woman who becomes the sole guardian for her autistic teenage half-sister named Music, played by Maddie. Sia directed and also co-wrote the screenplay for the film, which does not yet have a release date.
“The film explores two of Sia’s favorite themes – finding your voice and what it means to create family,” a press release for the film states.
