RIH Foundation hosting special online fundraiser Saturday night

KAMLOOPS — With large fundraising events on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation has organized an online dining event that encourages you to dress up in your finest attair at home before a meal is delivered to your doorstep.

The event is called #SharpDressedSaturday and is happening this Saturday, May 23, with all the proceeds going to RIH’s COVID-19 response.

“This event is exciting for us as we change the way we operate during these challenging and uncertain times. Our previous events have been very popular and much anticipated. Through this new online event, thanks to BCLC, we can still bring the community together for an enjoyable evening that supports a very worthwhile cause,” said RIH Foundation CEO Heidi Coleman in a release.

Tickets are $100 each and include two meals from Earls. The event will be streamed on Facebook and Instragam from 5 to 9 p.m. You can purchase tickets here.

The event will also feature a raffle, tickets of which can be purchased online by anyone, and a social-media photo contest. West Jet and other local businesses, including Jardines Domaine, Save-on-Foods and Kamloops Florist, have generously donated prizes. The Foundation will announce all winners on social media.
