Cache Creek issues evacuation alert as Bonaparte River rises again

CACHE CREEK, B.C. — The Village of Cache Creek has once again issued an evacuation alert due to rising water.
As of 8:50 a.m. Thursday (May 21), Mayor Santo Talarico issued the alert for all properties adjacent to the Bonaparte River, or whose only access would be cut off if the Bonaparte floods.
Talarico also declared a state of local emergency.
According to village spokeswoman Wendy Coomber, that equates to about 175 properties.
