TRIBUTE CEREMONY

Kamloops Legion to host tribute ceremony honouring Canadian Forces Snowbirds

KAMLOOPS — Local legion members have organized a tribute ceremony this week to honour Captain Jennifer Casey, and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, and support the recovery of Captain Richard MacDougall after Sunday’s fatal crash. (See previous)

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 52 in Kamloops, and the 886 Wing (Overlander) RCAF Association have partnered to host the event alongside local politicians.

Wreaths will be laid near the CF-5 plane at the airport, along with a bugle performance of Last Post and Reveille, the Lament will be played by a piper, and guest speakers will address those in attendance.

The ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m on Thursday at the Kamloops Airport roundabout, and UPDATED: the event is not open to the public due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions.
