On the lam from Logan Lake recovery centre, three suspects arrested in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Three suspects are in custody after a run from the Kamloops RCMP Thursday (May 14).

According to a news release from Staff Sergeant Mathias Van Laer, police were informed that the three were absent without permission from the Vision Quest Recovery Society in Logan Lake.

When police checked on a tip that they had rented a hotel room on Columbia Street, the three made off through a window and into a cab.

The cab company told RCMP it had dropped the three off on Kitchener Crescent near the Overlanders Beach, and that’s where officers arrested two of the three men.

Later this afternoon, officers caught up with the third suspect in the same area.

Van Laer says two of the suspects are in their early 20s and from Fort St. John, while the third man is in his early 30s from Surrey.

Van Laer thanked the community for its help and praised the quick responses of officers for helping to detain the men.
