Serious crash backs up traffic on Halston Avenue

KAMLOOPS — There is a word a crash at Halston Avenue and the Yellowhead Highway may have turned tragic Wednesday afternoon (May 13).

The crash between a motorcyclist and a cube van took place just before 4:00 p.m.

One of the first witnesses on scene, speaking to CFJC Today, said a southbound cube van turned left into the path of a female motorcyclist. The witness said the motorcyclist had no time to react and slammed into the van.

Several subsequent witnesses have said a body was lying on the road, covered in a sheet.

CFJC Today has not yet been able to confirm with emergency responders whether the crash was fatal.
