No new COVID-19 cases in Interior for fifth day in a row; 16 cases in B.C.

VICTORIA — For the fifth straight day, there are no new COVID-19 cases within Interior Health.

In her daily update, B.C. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reported 16 new positive cases of the virus. Three of those were seen in the Vancouver Coastal region, with the remaining 13 in the Fraser Health area.

Here are where the 2,376 total cases spread through B.C.:

• 877 (Vancouver Coastal)
• 1137 (Fraser Health)
• 125 (Vancouver Island)
• 180 (Interior Health)
• 57 (Northern Health)

Seventy-eight per cent of the total cases are people now considered fully recovered, or 1,859.

Of the 385 active COVID-19 cases, 59 people are hospitalized – including two in Interior Health – and 14 people are in critical or intensive care.

One more person has died of the virus, bringing the provincial death toll to 132.
