Province reports 23 new COVID-19 cases since Saturday, no new cases in Interior

VICTORIA — For the third straight day, there have been no new COVID-19 test positive cases in Interior Health.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry made the note during her daily briefing Monday (May 11).

Henry reported 23 new cases province-wide since Saturday, when Henry last reported. There are now 2,353 total cases in British Columbia.

Here are where the positive COVID-19 cases have been recorded:

  • 873 (Vancouver Coastal)
  • 1,118 (Fraser Health)
  • 125 (Vancouver Island)
  • 180 (Interior Health)
  • 57 (Northern Health)

Sixty-six of those people are hospitalized, including two within Interior Health. Eighteen are in critical or intensive care.

Of the total positive cases in B.C., 1,719 people are considered fully recovered, or 73 per cent.

There are 19 active outbreaks in B.C., and no new outbreaks. The Bylands Nurseries outbreak in West Kelowna has been declared over as of Monday.
