Cache Creek compost fire expected to keep smouldering for a few days
CACHE CREEK, B.C. — Fire officials say a smouldering pile at a composting facility outside of Cache Creek may continue to throw smoke for a couple of days.
Fire Information Officer Kyla Fraser says the fire popped up Saturday, but the owner of the facility, Pacific Substrate, did not request action from the B.C. Wildfire Service.
Pacific Substrate has told fire officials it has the equipment to handle the situation.
Fraser says provincial crews will only step in if the fire starts to spread or threaten other property.
