100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — The B.C. Conservation Officer service is looking into a dangerous incident on the weekend in 100 Mile House.
In a Facebook post, the service says a bear was shot and killed Sunday night at about 10:00 o’clock. It happened in a residential front yard along Scott Road.
The service says the discharge of “a high-powered rifle in a residential area could have resulted in tragedy,” and calls the incident a “significant” risk to public safety.
It notes the C.O. service did not receive any calls about bear activity in the area before hearing that this bear had been shot and killed.
