RCMP seeking witnesses after fatal vehicle incident in Peachland

PEACHLAND — RCMP in the Okanagan are hoping witnesses will come forward, after a fatal vehicle incident on Highway 97 in Peachland Friday evening.
West Kelowna RCMP, and the RCMP’s Central Okanagan Traffic Services had responded to a report of a fatal vehicle incident around 9:45 p.m Friday night (May 1).
RCMP say in a release that the matter is still under investigation, but it appears that the collision on Drought Hill was the result of someone driving a Buick sedan heading southbound crossing the centre line, and colliding head on with a northbound Mazda car.
The two vehicles colliding also resulted in collisions with two other nearby vehicles. Police say the driver of the Mazda was pronounced deceased on the scene, while the driver of the Buick was taken to Kelowna General Hospital with minor injuries.
