Shuswap businesses begin process of pandemic recovery with support hub
SALMON ARM, B.C. — Shuswap business leaders have begun setting out a plan to get the region’s economy back on its feet after the devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A strategy known as the COVID-19 Emergency Economic Response Plan is being developed by a series of Shuswap agencies, including the Shuswap Economic Development, Shuswap Tourism, Salmon Arm Economic Development Society, Community Futures Shuswap and the Tsuts’weye Women’s Entrepreneur and Innovation Network.
The group has formulated a first phase of the plan, including the opening of an Emergency Support Hub for Shuswap businesses.
A news release describes the hub as “a one-stop place for businesses seeking support to make contact.” It includes services for businesses seeking resource sharing, workforce support, community marketing, training, digital transition and emergency cash flow.
