Rockin’ River Music Fest cancels 2020 event
MERRITT — Rockin’ River Music Fest organizers have announced that the annual country music festival in Merritt will not be taking place this summer.
In a statement posted to the event website Friday (Apr. 24), organizers state that they’ll be shifting their focus to the BC Day long weekend in 2021 (July 29 – August 1).
The move comes after provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry told British Columbians that large gatherings and events will likely not be taking place this summer, as physical distancing restrictions are still needed.
Those who already purchased tickets for this year’s festival have two options – starting April 29 they can either refund their passes, or save the tickets to be honoured for the 2021 event.
