Cariboo Regional District issues evacuation order and alert for Hawks Creek area properties

WILLIAMS LAKE — UPDATED: The Cariboo Regional District has issued an evacuation order for one of the properties that previously received an alert in the Hawk Creek / Likely Road area.

The district says due to immediate flooding danger, affected residents have already been evacuated.

PREVIOUS: The Cariboo Regional District’s Emergency Operations Centre has issued an evacuation alert for six properties in the region as of Sunday (Apr. 26).

In a release, the district’s EOC says the properties are located around the Hawks Creek crossing at Likely Road. Those residences include:

  • 2849, 2850, 2885, 2888 Likely Road
  • 2884 Tann Road(Map accessed below)

With the alert, residents should be prepared to evacuate if needed, with a plan in place and essential items ready to go.

The district says those affected by the alert should also make sure any dependents or pets are ready to leave, and have pets and livestock moved to a safe area.

It adds that residents should not turn off their natural gas if an evacuation is ordered.
