Cache Creek water levels going down, as Bonaparte River continues running high
CACHE CREEK — Amid flood warnings and a local state of emergency, Village of Cache Creek officials say the water has gone down slightly for Cache Creek, but the Bonaparte River is still causing some concern.
Wendy Coomber with Cache Creek’s Emergency Operation Centre communications says they will be monitoring the provincial river forecast when it comes out today (Apr. 26), and they’re hopeful any precipitation in the next few days will be minimal.
Coomber says Cache Creek has already peaked, and is starting to go down, but the Bonaparte is another story.
“The river is still running high, but so far it hasn’t caused any more evacuation orders. We’re not out of the deep water yet, but we’ll see how that goes by the end of the day.”
