Organizers cancel Ribfest due to COVID-19 pandemic

KAMLOOPS — One of the most popular summer events in Kamloops is the latest casuality of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ribfest has been cancelled by the Rotary Club of Kamloops Daybreak.
In making the announcement, Daybreak Rotary says public safety and health takes precedence. After reviewing the provincial government’s public health directives, it felt it had no option except to cancel the popular event at Riverside Park.
The group’s Ribfest Raffle will still occur, with sales conducted online. The goal is to raise more than $30,000 for the local charities and organizations. Ticket sales will begin in May.
