Hillside Stadium to reopen, with modified hours and extra supervision

KAMLOOPS — There’s some good news for citizens who use the track at Hillside Stadium to get their daily exercise.

Mayor Ken Christian announced today the stadium is being opened back up to the public.

The facility had been closed down on March 24th, 2020, due to a lack of social distancing.

The Mayor announced the track and the field would re-open, with a few changes to how things will be done.

“I believe the hours will be from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm, and that will be for monitored use,” Christian explained. “We will have Park Ambassadors [at Hillside Stadium] – they’re looking after the Skate Park and the Bike Ranch and other facilities, where we have seen some overcrowding – look after that facility.”
