
COVID-19 cases remain static in Interior Health, 25 new cases in B.C. Tuesday
VICTORIA — “We will find our new normal in the coming weeks, but is not yet the time to lessen our guard.”
Those are the words of B.C. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry as she provided the latest update on COVID-19 in the province Tuesday (Apr. 21).
Dr. Henry reported 25 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., bringing the provincial total to 1,724.
There are no new cases in Interior Health, with the total here static at 153. The vast majority of cases in B.C. have been recorded in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
One more person has died due to the virus, an elderly person within Vancouver Coastal Health. The provincial death toll from COVID-19 is now 87.
One-hundred-nine people are in hospital with COVID-19 symptoms, including 51 in critical or intensive care. However, 1,041 people are considered recovered, or 60 per cent of the total test-positive cases.
