Flood watch in place for Bonaparte at Cache Creek, much of Cariboo and Chilcotin
VICTORIA — The Province of B.C. is keeping flood watches in place for a large portion of the B.C. Interior, and has instituted warnings further north.
According to an update issued at 9:00 a.m. on Monday (Apr. 20), the Nazko and West Road River areas are now subject to flood warnings, with the B.C. River Forecast Centre saying waterways in that area are running at a 20-year flow rate.
Flood watches are in place for the Cariboo and Chilcotin regions, including the communities of Prince George, Williams Lake, Quesnel, Alexis Creek, Anahim Lake and Cache Creek.
Provincial officials say the Bonaparte River below Cache Creek is flowing at a two-year to five-year rate and on the rise.
