Logan Lake council votes for no property tax increase in 2020
LOGAN LAKE, B.C. — Councillors with the District of Logan Lake have voted against any property tax, garbage and recycling rate, or sewer rate increases this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a news release, the District says it held a special council budget meeting on Apr. 16, when council determined the rates would stay static.
The decision came due to financial strains and concerns experienced by Logan Lake residents, businesses and industries.
“We understand these are extraordinary times, and we want the community to know we are working hard to lessen the economic impacts moving forward,” said Mayor Robin Smith. “This is a top priority for us, and we will work very hard to continue delivering community services while doing our part to lessen the financial burden.”
