RCMP renew call for information after body found in Kamloops last week

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are renewing their request for information into a body that was found in Westsyde last week.

The body of 37-year-old Brandon Thomas Malkinson was found last Thursday (Apr. 9) in the North Thompson River near Dunes Drive.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says RCMP investigators and the B.C. Coroners Service are trying to piece together what happened.

“At this time, it doesn’t appear there has been any foul play in regards to the body being located, or anything to do with the body that was found. But we’d like to know what his actions were before he came to be found in the river.”

According to Castelgar News, Malkinson pleaded guilty in a high-profile 2017 break-in case in Castlegar.
