Falkland Stampede postponed to late summer
FALKLAND B.C. — The 102nd annual Falkland Stampede has been rescheduled for later this summer, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Organizers announced on social media that the event, normally held on the Victoria Day long weekend, will instead be held Aug. 28 to 30.
“This change brings something new to Falkland, a rodeo under the lights. Friday, August 28th will be an evening rodeo performance with a dance to follow. Saturday and Sunday will continue as daytime performances along with the traditional Sunday parade. More details to come and we look forward to seeing all of our fans, sponsors, and contestants in August.”
The Interior Provincial Exhibition is still moving forward with planning for its fair in September in Armstrong, and they are following COVID-19 developments closely.
