B.C. has 45 new cases of COVID-19; five more deaths announced

VICTORIA — After several days of fewer positive COVID-19 cases being confirmed in B.C., the province has announced 45 new cases today.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said in her daily news conference today (April 8) that two of those new cases are in the Interior Health region, bringing the total here to 130.
Henry confirmed that five people have died from the virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the provincial death toll to 48.
The new cases announced today bring the provincial total to 1,336 patients — including 838 people who have fully recovered, or 62 per cent.
