CHASE, B.C. — The B.C. Wildfire Service says it is responding to an out-of-control wildfire near Chase.
Fire Information Officer Taylor MacDonald says the fire ignited about three kilometres north of Chase this afternoon, just west of the Trans Canada Highway.
The blaze was initially measured at about two hectares, and officials believe it was caused by human activity.
MacDonald says seven wildfire personnel are en route to try to get a handle on it, in conjunction with firefighters from the nearby Adams Lake Indian Band.
